The application of special foods has played an important role in improving the nutritional status of sub healthy people and patients, promoting the rehabilitation of diseases, shortening the length of hospitalization and saving medical expenses.

Around the world, new changes are taking place in the health sector, that is, when the disease arrives, take the treatment and gradually transfer to the stage of disease control. In April 2017 the State Food and drug administration has set up a "special food registration management department, opened China's health food, formula foods for special medical purposes and infant formula food registration management of a new chapter. However, China's special food field has just started, and there are many gaps in many aspects, such as research and development, evaluation, management, science popularization of special food.
