Education and occupational History:
February 1982 ，he graduated from the Southwest Agricultural University with a bachelor's degree;
 
December 1987，he graduated from the University of Bath College of Biological Sciences, ph.d.；
From 1988 to December 1990, he completed postdoctoral research at University of Bath and Beijing agricultural university ；
1996 to 1998, he successively had short-term works at the Cornell University and the United States Purdue University；
1999 to 2015, he held  the post of dean of College of food science and Nutritional Engineering of China Agricultural University for 4 consecutive terms；
He gives lectures in the United States, Britain, South Korea, Italy, Thailand, Canada, Holland and other countries .

Primary Domain of Research:
Mainly engaged in food biotechnology, agricultural products storage and ripening mechanisms, the quality and safety of agricultural products and food safety, inspection and safety assessment of genetically modified food research, national food safety supervision system reform design.
